Francis Flexmore 29 March 1767, High Gate, St Michael, Middlesex. Father Francis Flexmore, Mother Sarah from Hornsey, Middlesex. Apprenticed to a glass cutter is the only one I can find.

What was your mans trade? Was he a convict?

There was a Francis Flexmore convicted in 1789 in Middlesex and transported for 7 years to Hobart Town on the ship Neptune.

Here is a good Australian source to search for more evidence

Hi Whiteout7
Yes, he was a convict on the 2nd Fleet on the ship "Neptune" and arrived on Norfolk Island in 1790 for stealing. I don't know his trade, but in 1796 he became a Constable for the police on Norfolk Island.
Thank you for the info.

Hello Tassie Allie and welcome to RootsChat.

This thread started in 2015, but hopefully Stephen still has the same email address and will receive notification your (and garstonite's) posts.

A quick search of newspapers around the time of the trial doesn't bring up anything apart from the information that can be found on the Old Bailey website. There are however death notices and an obituary for his son Francis FLEXMORE who died in 1874, in the UK papers which mention Francis snr (not his convict background!). eg:
 Saturday,  July 18, 1874
Publication: Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser

Amazing Australian story of a convict who does well.

Detailed biography on findagrave, though there are no sources quoted.
