I am looking for information on the family of William Stephenson and his son Thomas who died in 1918 in South Shields. Thomas married Rachel Raine in 1911 and they had a son Alfred in 1912. I have searched unsuccessfully for the death of Rachel, did she die before Thomas or just after as Alf was then brought up by his aunt Ada Hansen

Hello and welcome to Rootschat.
There are two Rachel Stephenson deaths in South Shields in 1921. One is a baby, the other was born in 1885. Possibly mother and daughter.

You can probably ignore my last post. It looks as though Rachel 1885 could be the wife of a John Stephenson of Whitburn.

there is a marriage for Rachel Raine to Thomas Stephenson 15 Oct 1910 @ South Shields.

from freebmd, 3 possible Stephenson births,
Alfred  b.Sep 1912
William  b.Sep 1914  both South Shields.
Arthur  b.Mar 1915 @ Stockton.  All with Raine as mother's maiden name.
