Not Grassington its Giggleswicks
« on: Saturday 14 March 15 19:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone, l have misled folk thinking my maternal grandmother worked at Grassington. I need to correct this she actually worked in the sanatorium at Giggleswicks School. The period was school term 1949. I contacted the school to be told they only hold teaching staff details.
A number of years ago l travelled over to see the school and where the sick bay was (sanatorium) l was told that if a child was ill they would recover there.
I have no further information to show how long my grandmother worked there. I don't know if she was a nurse or auxiliary. If fact come to think of it lm not sure how she came to be working there. Previous letters she wrote are from Wales. Of course as with all our questions she can no longer be asked. Having died many years ago
