https://www.gengophers.comVery much in it infancy but worth a look.Newspapers and documents from many places may reveal a secret story or tree.For example my husband put the surname Havilland into the search box and England ,Came up with a lot of records including a very old family tree from Guernsey and Poole.Another name I put in was Shirvington and it revealed the story of a friends ancestor travelling to Salt Lake City.The ancestor had disappeared from censuses in England but this site showed her story in America.
Probably at the moment it's easier with more unusual surnames.
