From replying to your other thread, I know the family was in Carshalton and eventually Wimbledon. In 1826, the newspapers reported that George Ansell and Charles Augustus Ansell, calico printers of Wimbledon, were bankrupt.
Charles Augustus Ansell was b 1779 in Carshalton, son of George and Sarah Ansell. Looking at these parental names I found a baptism for a George Ansell in 1776 in Beddington, Surrey
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01ezh/ George Ansell snr died in 1797 in Carshalton, and his will (available online) confirms that he had two sons, George and Charles Augustus. The will suggests that neither of them was yet 21 when it was written in 1796.
So whilst this isn't proof of it being your George, there are enough links to make this sound a good possibility.
