finding a grave site
« on: Thursday 26 March 15 12:54 GMT (UK) »
been trying for a long time to locate where my uncle is buried or where ashes may be.

his name was; Cyril A .brierley Green died Jan/Feb/Mar 1968 he was 51 years. died in Ashton, lived in Droylsden, never married, he's not with either his brother or mother.
been to Dukinfield cemetery a few times looked thro the books spent hours doing this, but no luck.
checked Manchester city, Stockport and Blakley, again no trace of any record.
because of the cost i haven't as yet got a certificate, may have to tho, unless someone can help..

Unfortunately the certificate won't help with where he is buried, it will just tell you where he died, his last address and what caused the death.

Have you tried this site?

Hi pok4r

According to the National Probate calendar Cyril Archer Brierley Green died 18 March 1968 and was known to be living at 16 Lydgate Road, Droylesden, Lancs.

Unfortunately he didn't leave a will, there is a only a Letter of Administration for his estate of £2255 which won't help you further but...

Armed with his actual date of death you could approach Bereavement Services at Tameside council

http://www.tameside.gov.uk/bereavement

He's not listed in their online database but I don't think all the records are there as they are working hard to make them available

Try the obitury  column in the local newspaper. Should be available free to look at at the local area. Often they have a write up of the funeral or you may get information from the death notice if someone added this. This is assuming his death was listed in the paper in the first place.

Good luck with your search
