Hi, I am researching Francis Schomburg who married Mary Cotter Feb 22/1845. I would like to know what happened to Mary Cotter after Francis died. Does anyone have any information about the Cotters

on IGI it states 1861 census as b 1821 Russia Mamel ......so Mamel or Menel as birthplace ..
I have just googled Menel Russia - and it states Menel means Homeless....so we presume they were homeless in Russia when Francis Shaumburgh was born ??

Hi my husband is direct descendant of Francis Schamburg. Francis/Frank was born in MEMEL PRUSSIA Memel is now called Kleipeda in East Prussia Lithuania. Frank died 16/02/1871 age 70 in Workhouse Mill Road Everton He had been living @ 59 Tatlock Street Liverpool. I have his death certificate He died of Typhoid. Informant on certificate was his daughter Catherine Riley nee Schamburg.

I have his death certificate He died of Smallpox  Informant on certificate was his daughter Catherine Riley nee Schamburg.
