Hi Lisa B,

I cannot see a baptism for Ann Lade anywhere at that time. However, there is a burial for a Mrs Ann Lade 10 Sep 1746 in Warbleton and I wonder if that was her mother  and perhaps died in childbirth? Possibly the baptism didn't happen at all or maybe much later.

Edward is of Willingdon.   Ann's surname shows as Lades.   She is otp.  They married by licence.

Hi thanks for your reply. Was Ann of Warbleton or Willingdon?

Hi thanks for your help. Any idea how I may track Ann's father? Not had much luck so far the Lade/s seem to have come from Warbleton and prior from Kent, any help would be appreciated. I have attached the pedigree for anyone interested.

It might be worth your while joining the Sussex Family History Group as they have online registers available to members.   I can see various Lade entries on the marriage CD that they sell, many in Warbleton, and the implication on those is that the family were wealthy.   However, I can't see a suitable baptism for Ann in that area at the right time.

Ann Lade baptised 7 Mar 1746 Barham Kent to James Lade. This is why we cant find her in Warbleton she must have moved there as a child. Does anyone have any idea how many James Lade's were buried at Warbleton?
