Hi,

Reading through all these posts I admit to becoming a bit confused but to me it seems like there are two George & Sarah WRIGHT families. This is the family I see for George WRIGHT born abt 1841 in Inkberrow. Inkberrow contained the hamlet of Cokehill,

In 1911 George is still in Alcester but living on his own.

Possible death,

So if this is the George WRIGHT born Inkberrow abt 1842 then he doesn't look like the man married to a Sarah who have a daughter Ada and Mary. I think I might have found that family but I need some coffee so will write them down in my next post.

Regards,
Daisy

 ;D ;D ;D

Hi again :)

Looking at the info from the other RootsChatterers here it looks like your George was born abt 1826 in Hinton, this could be him in 1851,

1851  HO107/2044  f.44  p.3  Great Hampton and Little Hampton, Worcestershire
Great Houghton

George WRIGHT    Lodger    U    24    Ag Lab    Hinton Gloster

Living in the household of William RUSSELL

A possible marriage,

George WRIGHT    Dec Q 1855    Evesham    6c  535
other names on page
George COURT
Sarah GREGG
Sarah NEWMAN

"Gloucestershire, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1938" show that George COURT married Sarah NEWMAN on 11 November 1855, at Weston sub Edge, Gloucestershire. So George WRIGHT must have married Sarah GREGG. Interestingly there is a GREGG family living next door but one to the WRIGHT family on the 1861 census found by Josey.

Gloucestershire BMD Indexes have the Mary DRINKWATER Cheltenham 1879 birth, found by jim1, showing the mother's maiden name as GREGG.

http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/bmd/SimpleSearch.aspx

I can't find anymore info about George at the moment :(

It's odd that Mary uses the name DRINKWATER in 1891 , has two children with the surname DRINKWATER then marries as WRIGHT showing her father as George WRIGHT, stonebreaker (deceased).

More coffee......
