Tracing the elusive Byrne children
« on: Monday 30 March 15 19:01 BST (UK) »
Hello all,
Could you help me trace down the Byrne siblings?
I have them listed on the 1841 census living at 175 Bostock St, Liverpool
all of them were born in Ireland.
James Byrne   45 Merchant  b 1796
Elizabeth Byrne   40  b 1801
George Byrne   20  b 1821
David Byrne   20  b 1821
Margret Byrne   18  b 1823
James Byrne   15  b 1826
John Byrne     15  b 1826
Aiden Byrne   13  b 1828

I think i have a immigration entry for George To New York in 1851.

Thank you.
Byrne, Butterfield, Gilbert, Sutcliffe, Furey, Alderson, Warham, to name a few!

Have you looked for them on later censuses or looked for marriages/deaths on freebmd/Lancs BMD?

Could you say which one of these is your ancestor, or are they just distantly related?  It might give some connections to work with.

Chempat,
It's convoluted & i'm not 100% sure so trying to search them down but here goes!  :)
My ancestor was called Edward Byrne & on his masters certificate he lists his address as 18 Islington in Liverpool, on the 1851 census there is a James & Elizabeth Byrnes lodging there, Could be coincidence? i think they are the same people on the 1841 census because the parents names & age match with the 1851 census & maybe another coincidence but in later life Edward went on to have a son called Aden Byrne. Edward went to sea in 1839 & was never in the UK for a census!
Carole i've checked those but can't find anything that looks good for them.

There is a tree on ancestry that has some of them in it.
Looks a bit suspect, but have you seen it?

I think i know the one you mean, i have been in contact & it is not the same family though they thought it was & they were also unable to follow up the children too.
