Raynes/Boswell connection?

My Brother in Law has been told he is related to the Boswell family through his Great Great Great Grandfather who was a Raynes. Although i do not have his name he was unmarried and his Partner was Annie Davis from Sheffield, The only solid details i have are:

Thomas Raynes born 1905 Sheffield who married Frances S Wilson born 1907 Sheffield

Thomas Raynes birth comes up and death etc, but their is no entry in the census records so i can find his Father and Mother. He Died in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. He was told the Raynes spelling may have been different possibly Raines or Raine. Although i cannot find any Gypsy family of this name.

He was told that the Raynes family were part of the Boswell family, but again searches through the Boswells return no results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The marriage certificate of Thomas Raynes_Francis S Wilson Dec qtr 1925 Sheffield will give
both fathers names + occupations.

Hi thanks for the reply, think you are right might have to ask him to order the marriage certificate to find the parents names. Like looking for a needle in a haystack!

I think that is my gr uncle Thomas . I know we originate  from the Romany gypsies and was always told that there was a Boswell connection but have yet to find it myself .

This is my family and I have photos ! Tom is my gr uncle , we were descended from Romanys and I have photos of Toms parents and grandparents. I have done that side of the tree but not quite found the Romany connection to Boswell yet . Toms son , Terry always said we were related to Boswell? My half cousin did the tree yrs ago and found that there was a Romany Queen in our tree but I’ve not found it yet .
