LEWER (William Frank)

Hi everyone.

I am trying to find information on William Frank LEWER. I've never done this before, am just starting, have little information, and no reliable dates. 

I do know that he was a police officer in London during WW2.  He married and had two children, a son born March 1, probably in 1924, named William Henry LEWER, and later a daughter named Elizabeth, (or Betty) LEWER. 

William Frank LEWER was still alive in 1980. His last known residence was near Hownslow.

William Henry LEWER moved to Canada.
Elizabeth LEWER married James TAYLOR, in the 1940's or 50's, and had two children, a son named XXXXX and a daughter named XXXXX.

Is there some way to find out more about William Frank LEWER ? If he had brothers or sisters, and who his parents were?

Hello and welcome to Rootschat. 
According to freebmd, William Frank Lewer was born in Wiltshire in 1896 (Warminster, June quarter, 1896, 5a, 149). He married a Margaret H Bland in London in 1923 (St. Geo. H. Sq., Sep quarter, 1923, 1a, 1157). I won't post the details of his children in case they are still alive.
I don't have access to ancestry at the moment, but I couldn't see him in either the 1901 or 1911 census.

I think you are going to need a copy of his birth cert.

I have found this 1901 entry but am uncertain as there is no Robinson/Lewer marriage and no Agnes Lever/Lewer birth

All b Bradford on Avon (which is not in the Warminster Reg district) except where shown otherwise

Just found them as Leaver on the 1891 and there is a Robinson/Leaver marriage in 1900 on freebmd so not the right family.

He was b 10.5.1896 and his death was registered January 1986 Hounslow

The difficulty in locating him in the census means either a mistranscription or his mother married/remarried after his birth.

I know on this census the place of birth is incorrect, however still think it is correct family

By 1911 it looks as if the wife has died and the children, except the youngest, are all away from
home working.   William Frank, is listed as Willie with correct place of birth.
