JANE LARKIN b 1866 Hastings.

I know she married a Frederick Goldsmith but when was he born.  He was either too old for her or too young. One born 1840 the other born 1871.

Have you looked for them together in census records to get an indication of his age? death certificate? gravestone?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Have you perhaps got father Frederick and son Frederick mixed up?  There is the marriage Frederick and Jane Larkin in Hastings Q4 1890 and in 1901 living in Hastings Frederick age 29 born Croydon dist (FreeBMD has the birth Q4 1871) with wife Jane age 32 born Tunbridge Wells dist.  Four Larkin Goldsmith children under 9 and 2 step children 17 and 14.  Also Frederick Goldsmith, widower, age 62 (Q4 1839 Hastings would add up).
