I would say no, although it is odd.
I think sometimes you do get these mix ups. According to 1911, they have been married 50 yrs and have had 8 children- all still living.

Its a bit 50/50 ..I think the Leitrim place of Birth for Ellen is significant though?
If James filled out form its possible he stated what he believed to be the case that including both marriages he was indeed married 50 years.?

The two counties border each other though. I am just going off census info for John and Margaret. If you look at 1901 for Coolagherty, there is a creamery where landholder is James McGuinness of Moyne.

Just to update,
I have found and Purchased John McGuinness's death cert from November 1950, I also purchased Margaret's from March 1960.

I have a date of March 1926 for James McGuinness but could not find him in the register for that year.

It might give a clue re James's perhaps. If you are sure he died in 1926, perhaps he moved to another area - to one of his children maybe.

Good luck!

Its possible, I found his name on a Headstone in Granard stating 1926 as date of death,it was along with his Son John 1950 and Daughter in law Margaret 1960,who were interred there, the headstone is a large Celtic cross and looks like it may have dated from the 1920s.
When I searched In the GRO for a cert relating to James I could find only 1 James with an age near enough, but that James was registered in Monaghan...(im waiting to contact my friend who is away at moment to see if there is a possibilty of family link to the area).
Id be very surprised if he wasnt registered,

It now transpires that the James McGuinness death from 1926 was James Jnr who tragically drowned on the River Liffey, while living and working in Dublin.

I purchased Ellen's death cert (James Mother)who died February 1922 in Moyne, it states that she was a widow.
At least I have a ballpark year between 1911 and 1922 to search for her Husband James snr death.

I can only see a 32 yr old in Granard, 1913 and a 68yr old in Longford in 1919. :-\

The 1919 Death would be of obvious interest, I will get his death cert.
Thank You.
