Hi,  Had some ancestors living in Monmouthshire occupation "Farmer Ginerne"  could you tell me what Ginerne is?

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post the relevant section here for us to have a look at please? That word doesn't seem to make sense and may be a mistranscription or misinterpretation, so might be useful to see the original.
If it is from a census, names and relevant details would be good.

Is it just Farmer General??  Possibly with the line below - General Assist on Farm??   Edit - Looks like this bit was added later by the enumerator

To me it looks more like General, as in Farmer General.

I think the second line refers to the wife, being the assist on farm.

Yes, looks like it. For his wife they have down as Asich On Farm which you can see is Assist on farm, even looking at the original on my laptop was not that clear.  So bad translation.

I see others have beaten me to it, but yes it is definitely 'Farmer General' and 'Assists on Farm'.
