Naphtali Edward Jack

Naphtali Edward Jack b. 2 Nov 1904 Liverpool England  married Hilda Freeman 1933 West Derby England and their son David A Jack was born 1933 Liverpool.  There does not appear to be any trace of them in England but I have found -

Edward Jack, 47, British Army, and David, his son, 18, Medical student, arrived in Southampton on the Cunard Ship Georgic 29 Aug 1952 from New York - address 37 Rocky Lane Liverpool 16.

Also -Hilda Jack  b.10 Feb 1908 of 33 Greenleigh Road Liverpool 18, housewife, departed from Liverpool on the Franconia for Quebec 29 Apr 1955.

I am clutching at straws, would anyone know if this family lived in Canada?

The 1952 passenger list you referred to indicates their last permanent residence had been the US. It also indicates their intended future permanent residence was to be England.

There is another passenger list that has Hilda Jack with the same birth date arriving in Liverpool on the Empress of Britain on 7 Jun 1960. She was there for a 2 week visit and was to return to Canada. I've noticed as well that she is listed as being single on this passenger list.

The matching incoming record to that for Hilda Jack is dated 21 Mar 1955, arriving Southampton on the Queen Mary which departed New York.  Address in UK to be 175 Pitville Avenue Liverpool 18.
(I notice 2 streets away from Greenleigh Road) UK citizen. Country of residence is Canada and country of future residence is Canada.

175 Pitville Avenue (again per phone books) was occupied by H Lippa in 1955.

If it is the right Hilda it sure looks like she and Edward weren't together since she keeps returning to Canada.

At this point we have no proof that the Hilda on those passengers list is the wife of Edward.
