Johannes Hendrikus Huijgen
« on: Thursday 16 April 15 08:11 BST (UK) »
I am having a busy day working on four families at the moment.  I am not sure if anyone could help on this one as I need to look to the Netherlands.  The person in question is Johannes Hendrikus Huijgen born 17 August 1888 in Rotterdam, Holland.  He was an Olympian walker for Holland in the 1908 Olympics.  I would be grateful if anyone could suggest me to a site that will get me this information as I have tried a few in the Netherlands without success. Thankyou

I think you can get his birth certificate here

https://www.wiewaswie.nl/en/search/search-results/record-details/a2apersonid/324877846/srcid/2582403/oid/4

"Hendrikus Johannes (Jan) Huijgen, born on August 17, 1888 in Rotterdam, son of Petrus Arnoldus Huijgen and Johanna Catharina Jetten, departed before the Second World War abroad. He was a member of the Rotterdam athletics Pro Patria and took in 1908 as fast walker at the Olympic Games in London."

"WieWasWie (WhoWasWho) is the official website for Dutch civil registration records. It is the most comprehensive genealogical database in the Netherlands, containing births, marriages and deaths from 1811, as well as some Military Registers, Church records(pre 1811), and Family Notices in newspapers. Archives in all the provinces participate in this website to publish indexes and sometimes even scans of their records. More than 104 million names have been indexed as of February 2015"
