Welcome to rootschat, sammyboy.

I did a check on Comrie, which wikipedia claims is in Perth and Kinross, Stirling, in Perthshire in 1891.

Also, once I had input Fife in Scotlandspeople, Comrie no longer shows, whilst it does for Perth.

However, if I just search on the district Comrie from 1855 to 2013 for Agnes Sharp for births or marriages, I get no hits.

If she was born or married before 1855, then it would have been useful to give a little more information about her.

Could you do so now, and also tell us what relatives you do know about, so we do not duplicate your research?

Thank-you.

Added:
I have just been on another website (GenesReunited), looking at people's trees, and someone has Agnes Sharp of Comrie Village, Fife, 1876, in theirs.  Also lots of public member trees for Agnes from Comrie in 1876 on ancestry.

So why am I having problems with Comrie in Fife elsewhere?

Trees have her born in Comrie, but then shown living in Comrie but born in Culross Perthshire in censuses.

Lots of information between the ancestry trees.

Father Francis Sharp, 1843-1895 and mother Agnes Nimmo, 1841 - 1915, according to one tree.

Also one of about a dozen children so lots of potential relatives.

Hi

There are two places named Comrie, one is in the Parish of Comrie and is in Perthshire.

The other Comrie, which is the one that we are looking at is in the Parish of Culross and, while the Parish is considered to be in Perthshire it may have straddled the border with Fife. This Comrie is only about 10 kms west of Dunfermline. You would have to look at an old map to see exactly where the border was.

There are 2 birth registrations in the Culross Registration District for the name Agnes Nimmo Sharp, 1889 and 1892, downloading the birth registrations from Scotlandspeople would identify the parents.

Andy

Thanks for the explanation about the 2 Comrie's.

Google searches was giving me lots of information with surname Comrie, and lots about the Perthshire one.

It is a case of once you know what you are looking for, then you can find it.

Hi this is for Rosie17 you replied stating that you are not allowed to do a look up on living person.  I can confirm that Agnes Nimmo Sharp died in 1915 in the district of Culross parish aged 74.  I have already researched the family tree.  My main line of enquiry is to locate possible relatives of the 13 children born to Agnes and Francis Sharp.  I am also aware that Francis Sharp and his son were killed in the Kinnedar Pit in 1895 and are both buried in the graveyard at Carnock in Fife along with Agnes Nimmo Sharp.
