I am looking for the parents of Robert George Clackett born 1843 in Maidstone, Kent.  He married Rose Alice Hewitt about 1869 in Maidstone.  He remarried again in 1888 to Silvia Gillard (her name has come up as Selva, Silva and Selva Warnes which is very confusing).  William Clackett born 10 April 1870 (some places I have found say 1871 or 1872) is my great grandfather and is the son of George Clackett and Rose Alice Hewitt.  William Clackett married Catherine Lynch. Can anyone help? Thankyou.

This looks like his birth with a mistranscribed surname.  This certificate will give you the names of his parents.  The marriage certificates will name his father.

I can't find him on the 1851 census but there is a George CLACKETT aged 7, pauper, son of a soldier in the Union Workhouse Isle of Thanet.  HO107/1629/132/17

According to an online tree, he was born 18 May 1842 to Charles Francis CLACKETT 1807-1863 and Sarah MECOY 1810-1877.

Thankyou everyone for your help on solving the problem if Charles Francis CLACKETT and Sarah MECOY are the parents of Robert George CLACKETT born 1843. With your help and further research I have found that these are the parents of Robert.  Also I found that Charles Francis CLACKETT is born to Mary CLACKETT, no father mentioned.  Sarah MECOY is the daughter of William MECOY and Elizabeth HOBEY.  Now on with more research on another family.

IGIhas Elizabeth as Hobley with an L - not Hobey ...you might want to check that - IGI may have mistranscribed
