Confusion over daughter on death certificate

Hello

Today I received the death certificate of Jonathan Joseph Robert Steel, whom died in Carlisle in 2005, born in 1947.

It gives the name of his daughter as Annette Hamilton.

Looking at the bmd, there is a marriage between Jonathan J R Steel and Carole A Walles.

However there is no Annette Steel born to Jonathan or Carole. There is an Annette Steel born in 1968, but her mothers maiden name was Irving.

Annette married Andrew J Hamilton in 1996.

My confusion comes from why there is a marriage, but no Annette that matches

I would appreciate it if someone could help in clearing up the confusion

The birth record for the wife of Jonathan gives her mothers maiden name as Irving. Carlisle Cumberland Q4 - 1946 - 1 a 84

I think we are probably at or near to the solution ... and we seem to be dealing with people who are probably still alive.  RootsChat doesn't like this.  Perhaps the thread should be closed as soon as possible and PMs exchanged.
