Hi new to all this

GGrandfather James Holloway came from Bristol to Tasmania as convict in 1843, His father was Thomas c 1783, his father c 1753, his father c 1733

Any info would be appreciated

Have you found James on the 1841 census in Bristol, and how old was he then?

Is this him?
James Holloway  convicted (Wells quarter sessions, 10 years) 24th October 1842, voyage date 28th April 1843   vessel Cressy.   Colony Tasmania Van Diemen's Land,

Added:
On the same date James Holloway was given 10 years for sheep stealing, and was age 16, at Wells (from different records)

He is in a public tree on Ancestry, marries Caroline Collins Brown in 1853  and born 12 November 1826 in St Phillips and Jacob, Bristol and dies 4th June 1916 in Police Point Tasmania.  No parents specified.

Is this the correct man?

Does it specify on some Australian records that he came from Bristol, as there is a James Holloway born 1826 still living in Bristol  (Stapleton area) in later censuses?

Just to clarify some details James Holloway married Caroline Collins Browne  Police Point Tasmania whose baptism certificate has her as Caroline Collins Browne McCoy in Hobart Tasmania
