Hi Kathleen,
Yeah, I realised that and that is why I offered to look at the electoral rolls, will see what I can do. Sorry, I should rephrase what I said because my sister isn't/wasn't lost, I know where she lives & we are in touch by email... although very rarely. She didn't & still doesn't want to meet.... doesn't want to revisit family stuff... stuff between her & our parents & oher sister, not with me. Just by being alive I remind her of the past. So I wait......... until she's ready to meet me, meantime we are like strangers to each other.  :(
Yes, it is a shame & you're right we all see things differently. I hope you can sort things out with your siblings... it takes time and prayers and a lot of patience.

Cheers,
Candy

Hi Bob,

I suggest you post them on this board too. I've posted a message on this board and another Aussie has been very helpful so I may soon find my living cousins. Where are you located? I'm in NSW so if you post 'em here I'll see if I can do anything to help, if I can't then maybe one of the other helpful Aussie rootschatters might be able to help you.  :D :D

Regards,
Candy

I have traced two ancestor to NSW, and found their wives, chidlren and children's spouses is some cases.
As there is a limitation in date availability of NSW BMD records, I seem to be stuck.
IS there somewhere I can post these hoping for a living descendant, or can anyone suggest any bettter way.

Thanks Bob

Hi Folks,

just a reminder to all of you ....

Please don't post info about living people on the public boards.  If you think you can help, then the best way is probably to describe the resources and possibilities here in public, but then use the PM system for the 'private' bits.

Wishing you all luck in your searches,
Bob

Hi

What I am going to suggest sound stupid but I am in regular contact with relations in NSW and now the US

I few months ago it was suggested that people entered their names into google just to see what comes up, I went one further and put in the name of a person I wanted to contact several hits came up and I e-mailed one - low and behold it was my rellie, okay a fluke but hey give it a go but use the speech marks like this "Joe Bloggs"

Give it a go, nothing to lose everything to gain

Good luck

Hi Andrew,

It's not stupid!  :D :D I've done that google search successfully before but never thought to mention it here. It won't work for me at the moment though because I don't know the names of my cousins, yet. I've had some geat success with familysearch.org and cemetery's online to work out my cousins grandparents & gt grandparents details in Qld. More details than I expected to find. Won't be long and I'll find my Aussie BRIDGE & LINNETT cousins.

Cheers,

Candy

G'day,
Yeah I've done it with our ancestors names a few times. It's funny coz I just put my  "name" in google and I got a result but it's not me! Might be a distant cousin with the same unusual name! Very flukey & spooky!

Candy

when I did mine I found I was hanged for murdering a Douglas in the 17/18th century and wrongly accused of sheepstealing, because of a greycoat in scotland

It starts quote  "There was not, in all Annandale, the quarter of the country to which he belonged, a decenter man than Andrew. A simple, good-hearted, inoffensive creature he was, and one who would much sooner do himself an injury than his neighbour."

Even sounds like me
