Hello  Yes..it seems he was baptised Thomas Bastard on Oct 10 1818 at St Giles, Cripplegate London. But later in life he was known as Thomas Barnabus Bastard.  His father John Bastard was known as "Gun" due to a position he held in the Royal Navy....Unfortunately Ive come to a halt regarding his parents...

The only information obtained is from a book written by Thomas...called Cockney Tom.  It unfortunately doesnt give any specific information. .eg his father or mothers name or time served in navy, it tells stories of events /experiences rather than specifics.   If anyone even has a name of the mother or navy records that shows John Bastard it would be very helpful.  I have tried navy rerecords but without any luck.
