Ann Hammond b abt 1735
« on: Tuesday 28 April 15 15:43 BST (UK) »
Ann Hammond married William Goodyer in Bury, Sussex on 16 May 1765. An Ann Goodyer was buried in Bury on 10 Feb 1813. The record mentions she was "of Watersfield". Age at death would imply she was born about 1735. I presume this means that she was living in Watersfield immediately prior to death, but it was her or her family's wish for her to be buried in Bury with her husband who had died in 1787.
Can anyone find her baptism around 1735 in or close to Bury.

I believe she may be related to a Susanna Hammond who married James Parlett.

Ann is mentioned on these other two threads of mine

but I thought it less confusing to start a new thread specifically about Ann

Thank you very much. I've been trying familysearch most of the afternoon and just couldn't find that. When I told it to limit records to Sussex and 1730  to 1740, it was coming up with records from all over the place.

So as I suspected Ann and Susanna are sisters, and there's a couple more siblings to add in too

Possibly another one as well

John Hammond bap 02 Mar 1739  Pulborough father John.

Unfortunately the mother isn't mentioned on any baptism.

Two baptised a couple of months apart in 1739 - could be two John Hammonds fathering children in Pulborough at the same time.

Could well be, that's why I was hoping they would give the mother's name.

I've now managed to find them on Familysearch, and I've also got a Luke and a Charlwood. Charlwood sounds like a surname so maybe a clue to the mother.

The parish records look as if they are available on a CD
