Dilema, can't find burials
« on: Wednesday 29 April 15 12:34 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have been trying to find burial places of my 4x great grandparents Robert and Alice Edwards.
Robert was born Llanfair DC and Alice Cerrigydrudion. Robert Edwards is on the 1881 census and not the 1891 census where Alice is Widowed. Alice died in 1897, I have her death certificate but I got the incorrect death certificate for Robert. I can't find a burial for them in Llanfair DC or Llanfwrog so I am pulling my hair out a bit. I just would like to find out when Robert died and where they are if anyone has any suggestions please?
Kind regards
Nerys

Hi

Where a person was born does not help with where they died or are buried.  We need to know where they were living at the time of the last known census and in which RD they lived

You haven't given Robert's birthyear - 1881 shows 1814

They were living in the Ruthin RD in 1881 so looking on freebmd there are 2 possibilities

Sept qtr 1882
March qtr 1885

The 1882 Robert Edwards Garthyfron is the one I sent for and is incorrect. Alice is living with her son John Edwards at 136a Mwrog Street on the 1891 census and is where she died so obvious choice is Llanfwrog. I know they were Calvanistic Methodists so would this influence burials? I know that son John Edwards lost 3 children whilst living at Mwrog Street and all 3 are buried in Llanfwrog. I shall send for the 1885 death certificate.
Thank you for your help
Kind regards

Alice's death was also registered in Ruthin RD so the only remaining possibility for Robert's death is the 1885 one

Robert Edwards' abode at time of death was Ty Capel, Graig, Llanfair, the 1885 death certificate was the correct one. I have inquired at the archives if there are any burial records for Salem but they don't have any records. I know there are lots of gravestones in that Cemetery so would any kind person living in that area be willing to look for me please?
Kind regards
