I have an Acer Aspire laptop,I have just bought a new battery (not a cheap one!),but I can't seem to charge it. I have tried for 4 days now, have taken it out and put it back in, but still zilch it won't charge.

What am I doing wrong?

My Acer is a 5732Z.

The battery is a Lenoge with a very long bar code on it. It cost me £33-21,so I didn't go for the cheapest one.

This is from their email to me.....

11.1V 4400mAh replacement battery for Acer Aspire 5732Z

I need to buy a new battery for my toshiba. I looked at prices and the toshiba price is a lot dearer!
At least my mains lead is still working but battery's only good for an hour and half when fully charged. I think it's only about 3 years old. Was gonna buy a new laptop later in the year I think when win 10 comes out but gonna buy a compatible battery so I can use the toshiba just for transcribing. I know a lot of people who had Sony viao's and the mains leads went within 18 months.

All laptops are spec'ed to fit a low marketing price. Larger capacity batteries for all well known laptops are usually available. If you cannot afford to go to the brand supplier always google your intended supplier and the word review and you should get to read horror stories before you place your order.

I have since discovered that my new laptop battery is faulty.
A friend suggested that I try to charge the old one- that works.
So if it's not the cable it must be the battery.

Now to get them to answer my emails!
I have a feeling I'm about to lose my money here.

Acer no longer make batteries for my model (too old) so I was forced to go to someone who does a suitable one imported from China.
