St Botolph's Church Parish Registers - Holden
« on: Sunday 10 May 15 12:04 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I'm very new to rootschat and I was wondering if anybody could help me with a puzzle I have. My grandfather Frank Holden was born in 1904 in Lincoln but I cannot find him in the 1911 Census.

However, there is a record for him (according to ancestry.co.uk) in the Lincolnshire Archives. These are the details Ancestry have given me.

Baptism Place:   St. Botolph's, Lincoln, Lincoln, England
Father:   John William Holden
Mother:   Lavinia Ann
FHL Film Number:   1542051
Reference ID:   - 2:30HKGF3

I wonder if anyone might be able to find a picture of this record or maybe tell me more about what it contains.

I really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hi

Welcome to rootschat  :)

We are not allowed to do 1911 lookups.  Lavinia is a not so common name have you tried looking for her in Lincoln 1911

Frank Holden is in the 1911 census living in Lincoln with two siblings all born City of Lincoln.  There is no father in the household but you should find the entry if you search for mother Lavinia Holden living Lincoln, born Cornwall c. mid 1870's.

I can't seem to find this. Do you have a page reference or any more details?

Thank you so much. This has been a mystery to me for years. It turned out Holden was spelled "Horden"! Thank you!

The name is written and signed as HOLDEN but indexed as HORDEN (at least in the version that I have seen)  ::)

The place they were living is actually in "uphill" Lincoln, quite close to the cathedral.  St Botolph parish was in the south end of the city.

I think the entrance to Halliwells Court was down this passage. :( http://www.instantstreetview.com/@53.235236,-0.538569,-295.03h,-9.06p,1z
