Probably Aldershot Crematorium.

Where was he living prior to being in hospital - Please ignore this question probate has an address in Farnham.

Sorry should have got back to you before now.You say that you found the probate record for him. Someone dying in Farnham, where would they be cremated? I'm pretty sure he wasn't buried.
   Any help welcome

I think both Aldershot & Guildford Crematorium opened years after his death.

You would need to contact both to find out for sure.

If he isn't there try Woking

Woking Crematorium might be another candidate although not an obvious one I would have thought.
Woking Crem opened around 1878.  I dont know about the other two mentioned.

Many thanks to everyone for their help. My grandad was cremated at Woking Crematorium on the 14th September 1956 and his ashes were scattered in the gardens there. I guess there's no plaque or anything else.
Thanks again for all your help and also telling me about being able to buy wills, somethiing I didn't know was possible.
