« on: Monday 11 May 15 18:54 BST (UK) »
Hello i am trying to track down the parents of & hopefully 1st wife of Thomas Butterfield he was born appx 1771 i have not found his death or that of Sarah Wood.

He was married 18/4/ 1813  Bingley Bradford to Sarah Wood, it states on the certificate that he is a widower & she is single.
They had 3 children, John 1818, Hannah 1820 & Benjamin Butterfield 1824
Thomas, Hannah & Benjamin are on the 1841 census living at Moun??? Row & he is a wool comber
The children were all baptised at the Wesleyan chapel in Bingley.
Benjamin went on to Marry Amelia Benton in 1850.

Hope you can help.  :)

Hi

Thomas's residence in the 1841 census was Bradford Moor.  In the 1841 census, the age of persons over 15 was supposed to be rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5, with that in mind there is a burial that could be him

Thomas Butterfield aged 78 years (birth c1769) of Brad. Moor buried 12 January 1847.

There are a lot of Butterfields in the area, but there are a couple of baptisms which could be worth a look at in Keighley.

Thomas bp. 24 May 1770 son of Robert and Alice Butterfield, abode: ? ? Hole, Bingley.
Thomas bp. 1 Feb. 1769 son of John and Mary Butterfield, abode: upper ? ?

Thomas and Sarah also baptized a son Thomas born 28 Jan 1816, bapt. 4 Apr 1816, abode : Eldwick Moorside of Bingley, father a Wool Comber.

Hi Alders
Have you seen this rootschat topic ? It was started by Cliffelinks65, who has done a lot of great research on the Butterfields.
Not sure if any help as its a common name in area, but does include some Bingley/Bradford area families
