Description                         Name               Salary      date of appointment

Superintendent  of  Timber     Kenneth McKenzie  100        17 feb 1864
Remarks
originally appointed a constable at Port Arthur on 25th may 1860
promoted asst overseer on 1 jan 1862  52 pound a year
ditto          superintendent of Timber 1862 100 pound a yesr

From this article about Port Arthur in 1867
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/91790106

In addition, the staff included one dry storekeeper, one provision storekeeper, one superintendent of agriculture, one superintendent of timber, one overseer of agriculture, at £100 per annum....

I think this name should probably be 'K. McKENZIE', not 'R. McKENZIE'

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/8836914

Last column, article headed 'To Mr. Henry Skinner'

The place where he was originally appointed a Constable seems to be "Port Arthur".  So, was your chap in Tasmania?    If so, then he was the further promoted to Superintendent of xxxxx  that I am currently reading as Timber.

Cheers, JM
