Struggling to find the baptism record you refer to. i could only find this one but the date throws it out:

Name:   George Lewis
Gender:   Male
Baptism Date:   26 Aug 1866
Baptism Place:   Saint Mary,Pembroke,Pembroke,Wales
Father:   John Lewis
Mother:   Charlotte
FHL Film Number:   105196

I believe George to have been born 1868 in Begelly. Perhaps this isn't the right one?

Hi again, apologies re baptism date it should be 1866,  East Road Pembroke,  if you look at the first census after the  marriage of George and Ann 1891, what age is he and where does he say he was born,  at marriage he was 22 in 1890.

So this started with a search for John Lewis, however this on the basis my information for his son George was correct.

I need to look for George and verify him full before tackling john.

The only confirmed data i have is Georges marriage certificate to Ann Phillips in 1890. His age is put at 22. No census matches this that i have looked at.

OK best of luck locating a George b 1868/71 in Begelly with father John possibly he was illegitimate and just made the name of his father up, I note in 1891/1901 he states Pembroke Town/Pembroke whilst all the rest of the family are either Begelly or Pembroke Dock?

the marriage on 31st May 1890 shows George as 22. He could have been 23 the next day or any day later that year. Or he may have 'lost' a year to bring down his age nearer to that of his wife. His age is given as 21 on the census in 1891 & 30 on the 1901 census. So his age seems rather fluid.

The residence at time of marriage of both George & Ann is noted as Begelly. The only info about John Lewis given on the certificate is his name & occupation.
