Hello again Mabel
Thank you for the details.  Since posting the requests-William Lewis and Penallta farm-I have unearthed a newspaper snippet.  "In 1937, Mr & Mrs William Lewis celebrated their Golden Wedding.  The newspaper snippet said "Mr Lewis is 84 and Mrs Lewis is 77.  They were married at the Old Cefn Hengoed Chapel  on June 14, 1887."  I would appreciate a look-up on the 1871 please.

Kind Regards
Roy

Not sure where the Lewises come in

1871 - Penallta Isha

Edward Edwards    57 - farmer of 250acres, employing 1 labourer
Margaret Edwards     47
Margaret Edwards    24
Thomas Edwards    22 - employed on farm
John Edwards            21  - employed on farm
Richard Edwards    18  - employed on farm
Mary Edwards            13
Ann Edwards            11
Edward Edwards     9
Jane Edwards            6
David Rumsey    21 - servant
Rhoda Phillips    19 - servant

RG10, 5389, 33, 1

Edward and Margaret are still there in 1881, with Jane, and separately listed at the same address is son William Edwards  with wife Lavinia.

There are adverts for the sale of the farm, stock and equipment in 1885 when Mrs edwards decides to retire from farming.

Also noted on 1881 is a property Penallta Fawr, with another William edwards, mason, and family
