Francis Rhode Stanforth

Francis Rhode Stanforth is something of a mystery man as are his family prior to 1915. I have found him on the Census in New York. By now he is married to Florence Simpson Presbery born 18 May 1887 in Kansas. They have a son Robert Norman b 1911 in New York.
I can trace the family on the 25,30 and 1940 New York Census returns. From the 1930 it says his father was born in Minnesota and his mother in Canada--but I don't know their names.

From his World War 1 draft papers I know Francis Rhode Stanforth was born in 1888in  Minnesota.
Those papers also say he was a Cpl for 7 years  -- I assume the Guard record I found on line but doesn't give any details.

There are a number of trees on line but no one goes beyond Francis Rhode Stanforth which I find strange as other lines are well documented. I guess he married around 1909 and if we could find those records it might give his fathers name but don't know how to access them. I would love to find out when they came to America or just manage to get back a few more generations.

Hi Again
Just found the 1930 census. rather strange Record keeping . I am sure it is the same Rose F Stanforth but now says she is born in NewYork. She is 67 so I wonder when she died . Can only assume a mistake. Interesting the lodger on this 1930 census is a Deborah Gee --the same name as on the 1900 return .

I have found a Rodes F Stanforth age 12 as a lodger attending school on the 1900 census. Family he is with is Hickson. Had ignored it before but now wonder if names have been switched .And given that you found Rose alone on 1900 return this could tie in . Wrong place of birth but month and year correct. Then in the 1905 census there is a Rhodes Stanforth living with a Rose Stanforth widow,trained nurse. Again place of birth for both are wrong. Could be completely separate families but who knows.

A passenger list from a cruise from 1920 says that Francis was born 23 Jan. 1888 in Rochester, Minnesota. 

Do you have a date of death for him?   A death certificate might contain parents' names.
