Donald Noble MacGruer - Perth, Scotland

Hi,

I'm looking for information on Donald Noble MacGruer (1944-1980). I believe he was born in Perth, Scotland. He married * in Peterborough and they had a son *. It seems Donald soon returned to Perth and he died there in 1980. I would be interested to learn if there are any records of a divorce, or if there is any information about his death since he seems to have died quite young.

I would also be interested to get some more information on his parents. I believe his father was also called Donald Noble MacGruer and he died in 1998, but I have no information on his mother.

If anyone has any leads on this I would be hugely grateful!

Rootschat has a "no living persons" policy and you have mentioned a wife and son who could still be alive today.

His birth and death information will be found on Scotlands People which is a pay per view site and you would have to obtain a copy of his birth cert to establish his parents names and mothers maiden name.

You can use the same website to look for his fathers death (assuming he died in Scotland).  A copy of the death cert will give you his parents names and mothers maiden name plus the name of his wife

English death entries for that surname have it as McGruer - none show MacGruer so you may need to check both spellings when using SP

Death Helen MacGruer(other surname Harvey) 1995 Perth Perth , born c1922.

Death Donald Noble MacGruer(mother's maiden name Harvey) 1981 Perth Perth , born c1944.


Can't see a likely divorce for Donald junior in Scotland.

If they divorced in England & Wales you can apply to Her Majesty's Court & Tribunal Service for a search.

It costs £65 for each 10 year period but all you'll get for that if an entry is found is an A4 sheet of paper with the reference number, the names of the bride & groom, the date and place of the marriage and the date and court where the decree was made absolute. There will be no other information so could be considered a waste of at least £65 unless you require the document for legal purposes.
