Can anyone find info on this ship? I have found several Columbia's but not this one and it is transcribed as Columbian on the list of Boer War troopships.

According to www.boer-war.com:

Columbian was used by 10th (The Prince of Wales's Own) Royal Hussars, arrived at the Cape beginning of December 1899.

The London Times of 16th November 1899 reports:
The transport Columbian passes Las Palmas Nov 15
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Cheers KG. So there definitely was a Columbian. I can only find ships called Columbia or Columbine so far.

I think it might be spelled Colombian (as in the country) not Columbian.
e.g. http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/4876345

I'm unsure if it is the same ship as Columbian, though it probably is.

Ancestry has a record of an SS Columbian, of the Leyland Line, travelling from Boston (USA) to London in 1908?

Maybe it's the same boat?

That looks like the one. Built Belfast 1890 and sank after catching fire in 1914. Excellent work KG, thank you. :)
