I can find NO CONNECTION between Alexander Henderson & Jane/Jean Leighton Henderson. Alexander only married once to Jean McCrae Fawns & only had 1 daughter Jane Ritchie Henderson. On the census returns she was known as Jeanie.  I have a lot of info on the ritchie surname so if you have any further info re your Jane Leighton let me know. The parents of Jean McCrae Fawns were Robert Fawns & Jane Ritchie.

I have found a son Harold David Waterworth dob 1928 & a daughter M Waterworth dob 1933. Any further info very much appreciated. As far as I can work out they didn’t come back to Scotland to live.

Hi, Have just seen your enquiries re David Fawns Henderson and his sister Jean.
He was my grandfather so I might be able to throw a little light on things.

David Fawns  Henderson was my mother's father and I know my mum had an Uncle Harold and Aunty Jean (not Jane)  in Rhodesia and cousin/cousins in Johannesburg. I think their surname was Water....something and they had a tobacco farm. My mum also told me she had cousins in Perth, Australia. From1923 to 1948 my Grandfather was our In Calcutta in the jute industry. If you are interested see the Dundee Heritage Trust online database (dhtcollections.com) and put David Henderson into the search box. Hope this helps.

Jean (not Jane) 

In Scotland the names Jean and Jane are totally interchangeable - just variant spellings - so don't dismiss a Jane when looking for a Jean or vice versa.
