catholic wedding St Vincent de Paul, Liverpool
« on: Wednesday 03 June 15 23:15 BST (UK) »
Mary Ann Roach married Daniel Catterall 21 September 1868 at St Vincent de Paul, Liverpool.  The text is all in Latin and her father is named as Carette.  Can anyone tell me the English version of the name Carette as I cannot find anything about him on Ancestry websites.

Thank you.

Could it be Charles? The Latin is Carolus and in a baptism record it would be Caroli, I think, meaning 'of Charles'.

I believe it was Garrett!  Found a baptism for Mary Ann in 1848 at St Peter's Priory.  Mother Margaret but cannot find them on the census returns!

That makes sense. We have a Garrett in our family and I never thought of that!

There is a death in Liverpool - 1850, September quarter, Garrett Roche.

From your new thread I see you must have found the information.
It would have been helpful if you had posted that news.
