Isaac Jones
« on: Thursday 04 June 15 08:48 BST (UK) »
My great grandfather Isaac Jones was born in Willenhall Staffordshire on the 30th March 1851.  Does anyone have an ancestor of that name born on that date that we can swap information.
His father's name I think was also Isaac and his wife Mary Ann their address in 1851 was Dilloways Lane, Parish Willenhall, Wolverhampton UK.
hopefully we can help each other.
thanks
Maureen Jones

Hello, and welcome to RootsChat!

If you haven't already done so, a good way to make surname connections with other members is to enter your surname interests in the Surname Interests Table (SIT), and to check there whether others are researching these names.

This can be found at http://surname.rootschat.com/ , there is a link to it under "Your Tools" at the bottom of each Rootschat page.

The more people who enter their surnames, the more chance there will be of making a connection!

Interesting one - as the 1851census was taken on the night of 30/31st March.  So baby Isaac would be a matter of hours old.

The Isaac and Mary that you quote from 1851 census have a child also Isaac. It looks as if his age is given as 10 months (which would rule out that family) but it isn't clear, and it is possible it could read 10 hours!

Do you have him on other censuses? A birth cert? Marriage cert giving fathers name? etc.

(I am not related, btw. But on Rootschat we help each other in our research - so no need to wait till you find a rellie who has already researched this. More fun to do it yourself anyway!)

Seems there are two Isaac Jones bn Willenhall about the same time. So, if your Isaac married, then you will need that cert to find out the name of the father of the correct Isaac.

Where did you find his exact date of birth?
