You need to be more specific, where was he born, did he have any siblings , do you know the names of your Grandparents.
Any little detail you have will help.

So far I`ve not found an Alfred Stanley Harris, but this could be him. It is the right qtr and year.
Births Sep 1937   
Harris .  Alfred S. Mothers maiden name  Herbert ,  Hinckley  7a 104
You would have to get the birth certificate to find out who his parents were.

It is possible that this is the marriage of your grandparents - do you not know their names and those of your uncles and aunts?  (Your father's birth would have followed quite close to the marriage)
With surnames of Harris and Herbert you will need to buy certificates to check, as too common names.
