Hi Michaela

Do you know what happened to her parents & siblings?

Do you have the rest of the family in the 1901 and 1911 census?

She died same year she was born - indexed by GRO as Volier rather than Votier.

Elsie Volier   June quarter   1891    Hull.

Mother Susan died 1906 Hull and she's been indexed as Volier too.

It looks like Walter and Susan separated for whatever reason between 1891 and 1901.   In 1901 Susan living alone at 92 Short Street, Hull.   Husband Walter at Proom Entry, Poterngate, Hull and stated as 'single'.   Son Albert in Hull Workhouse.

Certainly, family never together after 1891.

As already stipulated, Elsie died the same year she was born!

I found an entry in the British Newspaper Archive about Walter in Hull 1902

He was picked up at 1am without a place to stay for the night and admitted to stealing 2 coats and a spirit level.

Looks like he was homeless at that time.
