Hello Venelow
I was not realised the connection that Francis’s second wife was also a dress maker. Thomas Newsome and family lived at Buttercrambe in 1841, about 10 miles from Thornton-le-clay the birth place of Elizabeth Newsome, and 7 miles from Burythorpe so being a very rural area in the same trade that is likely the basis of subsequent Lonsdale/Newsom family ties.
I do not have any details of Samuels parents so would be most interested if you have them.
Thank you
Kind regards
