Looking for any information on ancestors of Josiah Bean. His parents were Richard & Elisabeth Dawes from Tadcaster. Looking to find out who Richard's parents & grandparents were....

Many thanks

And do you have a date (or decade/century) for any of these events?

Are you referring to Josiah Bean  Bapt/Born 1829?

Hi Pauline,  :)

Thank you for asking. Yes, Josiah Born 21 July, 1829. He was one of the survivors from the Earl Of Charlemont Shipwrecked near Barwon's Head Victoria, Australia. From the information we have, he was born in Yorkshire & followed his older brother George to Australia  - he was on the ship with his brother Charles.

I am after information of his parents, especially his father's (Richard Bean) ancestors - I can't seem to locate the right Richard Bean since there's so many listed in the Yorkshire area born around the same time RIchard was too (1788). But am very grateful for any information you may have.

Many thanks

Hi Pacifica,
So I gather you have not had success in finding the ancestors through the deaths of his brothers in
Australia?

What avenues have you pursued along these lines?

Sue

Did the parents come to Australia?

Hi Sue  :)

Thankyou for asking.  No Richard & Elisabeth Bean (parents of Josiah & siblings) did not come over to Australia.

Richard (1788)& Elisabeth (1792) Bean (nee Dawes) had passed on very early in life so their children were raised by their eldest child Sarah (1813).

No I have not had much luck with other online records with the deaths of Josiah's brothers to be able to get some information about their parents Richard & Elisabeth & Richard's family tree especially.

Many thanks

have also tried searching births/deaths news in Australia & England to no avail. One thing for sure, so many Richard Beans but none with the same birth year or +-5 years close to 1788.
