Thanks Shaunj

I was pursuing the Nottingham lead as found an address that Hugh gave on his repatriation to the UK on the Llandovey Castle of 45 Beech Road Sherwood Rise Nottingham.

Anyway with your info and that of Jorose I should be well on my way to filling in the detail.

Thanks to both again.

Just for a little added info/detail - some older photos of  Palmer College of Chiropractic and an email for their archives - perhaps they might have info about Hugh or Dorothea?

Ancestry has the overseas death register page image http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/1993/41814_b157095-00281/17607

Are those Hugh's sisters on the same page ?

The response on this site has been unbelievable and I thank everyone.    Hugh was an interesting person and his life would make a great film what with four wives, the travel, war, Changi prison etc.   The records SHAUNJ speaks of a probably the sisters and their deaths along with others are described in the awful business surrounding the bombing and sinking of the ss Kuala and Tanjong Pintang.   I have put a precise of Hugh's life up on Familytreecircles at
http://www.familytreecircles.com/notes-on-life-of-hugh-mcintyre-53772.html
should you be interested.

I was just looking at another of your posts and was going to say is this Thea Foster-Brown's birth on free bdm

Births Mar 1915
Brown    Dorothea M    Dunkerton    Bristol    6a   175

It might be one to keep in mind
Very interesting story and a very frightning story of the SS Kuala and Tanjong Pintang.
Wemyss/Crombie/Laing/Blyth (West Wemyss)
Givens/Normand (Dysart)
Clark/Lister (Dysart)
Wilkinson/Simson (Kettle or Kettlehill)

Thank you WHITEOUT.  Given what info existed about birth date this would have been one to follow up but it seems that she was born in 1904 and the info provided by JOROSE and what I discovered as an address given by Hugh on his repatriation seems to confirm that.
Yes the SS Kuala incident and the Kraik saga that led to Hugh being tortured are terrible stories.

a comment>>>>>    just cos a birth may have happened in 1904 it is more than feasible for it to be a late registration.........ie 1915    sometimes the original bmd microfilm image has to be looked at ... and they have pencilled in a comment .....   or there is a cat number that is reflective of a later quarter.......

{and regretably I havent got an example onhand to demonstrate what later birth registrations look like}

its the same with births that happen between 25th December and December 31st....  they appear in the January Feb MAr quarter of the following year.

I have found that with tracing Hugh's last wife whom he married after the war.   I am not too bothered about the birth date at this time but happy to have found out who 'Thea' was.   Will get into detail at a later date.   Meanwhile thanks for the followup.
