Finding burial place
« on: Saturday 13 June 15 14:49 BST (UK) »
Any help appreciated.James Barry b.Ireland abt 1818,wife Julia Barry nee MaCarthy.? when moved to Wales,4 children,Michael b 1858,Catherine b.1860 twins Mary and John b.1864.  1871 Julia is a widow. The only death I can find of a James Barry is 13/06/1868 in the Langanna district of Pontypridd,Glamorgan.I have the death certificate and Julia is not mentioned on it or her address .James was a laborer.
My question is where is James buried? I have checked all local cemeteries and churches and spent hours in local libraries.

I wonder if the reference to Llanganna represents James Barry dying in Pontypridd workhouse?  Have you checked admissions records for the workhouse?  http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Pontypridd/

The death certificate will have the address where he died, and the name of the informant.

Do you have a death date/location for Julia Barry ? its possible when she died she was interred alongside her husband, so you might find something about him via her
Sims, Abigall, Nash, Gilmour, Bradford

Not sure if this is the correct place to reply to the answers about the question I asked re James Barry burial place.
No not buried with his wife.
Checked the workhouse, nil.Although dont think the workhouse was open then or if it was no records.
On death cert, when and where died only gives date and llanganna Pontypridd.name of informant x the mark of William Arnold ? who he is.Taken the death cert to family history forums and they are as baffled as me.have tried researching William Arnold and again no joy.
Thank you all.please keep looking!!

A new Pontypridd workhouse was erected in 1865
