George Grimshaw Pickering
« on: Sunday 14 June 15 13:58 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to find all I can about George Grimshaw Pickering. He was born 1851 (in Ormskirk) and is the son of James Pickering (b 1840) and Marion Howarth (b 1844) who were married in 1871. George appears on the 1861 census but then disappears. Ancestry does suggest trying the SS Egypt crew list - and a George Pickering of the right does appear there for a sailing on 18/11/1873, and also the Australian death index 1787 - 1985, which doesn't really help.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks.

Hi Maggie1247.
If George was born 1851 then surely his parents dates of birth cannot be correct as his father would only be eleven and his mother seven years old.
Dave.

Have you made a mistake with these dates if George Grimshaw Pickering was born 1851 and his father born 1840 ???
