Help with St James Pockthorpe Norwich Baptism 1770's
« on: Monday 15 June 15 01:50 BST (UK) »
I have Michael Moor(e)  christened  at St James 29th October 1769. Parents Dan(iel) Moor(e) & ann Brown. There is a burial at St Martins @ Palace 14th Feb 1774 for a Michael Moore same parents and also one for his brother Daniel in 1773 there as well. I have always had Michael's year as 1769 but it may be him buried in 1773. I can't find another Michael born to these same parents. I have a marriage for Michael Henry Moore to Mary Ann Bradfield in 1813 so Michael definitely exists. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

Did your Michael Moore die in 1825?

There is this burial:

St Clements Norwich
14th Aug 1825
Michael Moore
Aged 36
Married Man
Abode Pockthorpe

If this is your man then he was born c1789

Looks like Michael Henry Moore and Mary Bradfield were married in St Simon & St Jude Norwich and their daughter Mary Ann More was baptised in the same parish on 3rd Oct the same year.
There is a bapt for an Ann Maria Moore, parents Michael Henry and Mary Ann Moore (nee Bradfield) on 1st Feb 1824 in St Clement Norwich (same parish as the above burial)

Thank you.

Yes, he could be my Michael Moore as last child born to Michael Henry Moore & Mary Ann Bradfield I have is born 1824. But I still can't find a suitable birth for a Michael or Michael Henry Moor or Moore around 1789. I would like to find out who his parents are as I don't think I have the correct ones in Dan Moor & Ann Brown as their Michael born 1769 seems to have died in 1774 and I can't find another Michael for them. The last child I have for them was 1772. May be I am missing a generation and Dan and Ann are his grandparents. Any help appreciated. Thanks

When Michael Henry Moore married Mary Anne Bradfield 1813 the witnesses were Robert Bates and Jane Bates. Are they related and therefore possibly provide a clue to parentage. Re Freereg.

added on the NFHS website they have transcribed the witnesses as Robert Bales and Jane Baker.
