Looking for William COOK
« on: Wednesday 17 June 15 09:39 BST (UK) »
I've been trying for years to locate William COOK who may have married a REDFORD. Wm had a son William COOK b 1819, supposedly in Inch, Aberdeenshire but I'm not convinced of this anymore and wonder if he was born in England somewhere? Married Ann Price 1854 in Tenbury, Worcestershire then they emigrated to New Zealand.
Does anyone know of William Snr who must have been born c1785-1800 please?

Yes that's him! Great thank you. I know from the marriage certificate (CAS 608505/83) 12th June 1854, that William was a Farm Bailiff when he got married, recorded his residence at the time as Kenswick, his father is William, a shoemaker. Ann's occupation was 'servant' living at Lindridge, father James was a labourer. From Ann's death certificate I know she was 68 at death, died at Motueka near Nelson, NZ and she had diabetes and died of dilatation of the heart and her mother was Elizabeth (nee) Palmer. Ann's death certificate says she was born at Eardiston, Worcestershire and that would have been c1827. The witnesses at the wedding were George Price and Sarah Palmer. If this would get me closer to finding William Snr I would be thrilled to bits! Regards, Mel
