Frank Burrard Creasy -Ceylon - England - New Mexico - Ontario, Canada
« on: Thursday 18 June 15 16:25 BST (UK) »
I am seeking any information on the life in Canada of Frank Burrard Creasy, especially his time in Ontario. He signs his Attestation Forms (1918) for the Canadian Army, correct birth day, wrong birth year. That year was reserved for his sister Phyllis Uva to be born in Ceylon. He was on the 1921 Census in Welland with his wife Lilly, Lily, Lillie and HER daughter also a Phyllis. He has a blip of activity when a article is published in Canada about him knowing "Billy the Kid" in New Mexico. He died in 1983? Probably in Ontario, as an Ontario Provincial Police pensioner.

Canada Voters List 1957 shows Frank Creasy (Civil Service) and Lily at 15 Henry Street Simcoe
Ontario.

Canada Voters List 1958 only lists Lily Creasy at the Henry Street address.

Canada Voters List 1945 shows the couple at the same address - Frank Creasy (army officer) and Mrs F B Creasy.

Many thanks. At least I now have where they were buried. As for the "Billy the Kid" article I have every confidence that Frank Creasy was telling the truth. Whether the "Geriatric Kid" was making the story up is still the question.

Lily has a grave marker in the Barrie Cemetery. Lily Gough Creasy 1878-1958. Frank does not have one or it has not been photographed. I could not find a Creasy/Gough marriage in England/Wales.

Frank transferred  to Haileybury in 1931. The Barrie Examiner published an article about a Bridge Evening for Lily and Lily left at midnight Friday 23 October, to join him in Haileybury. I hope she paid her bills!

I am doing much better with the help.

Lil* was a widow (CLARENCE) when she come over to the US. If you have access-take a look at:
New York Passengers List
Phyllis CLARENCE
Arrival 27  Apr 1913
Ship's name:Celtic

Going to Ramah New Mexico-I can't really make out all the "Friends names" but FB Creasy is one.

Hi,

Frank's complete service record WW1 has been digitized and is available from Library and Archives Canada. On page 24 there is mention of a marriage April 30, 1913 in Gibson, County McKinley, New Mexico to Lily Clarence.

FYI....service file is very very slow to load.

over 3,000kms and marries on the 30th.  ???
