Translating/Deciphering Dutch ondertrouw entries from the 1600s
« on: Saturday 20 June 15 00:51 BST (UK) »
Hi - I wonder if any Dutch speakers could have a look at these three entries from the Amsterdam ondertrouwregisters. I know the names of the individuals who pledged to marry but many of the other details complete elude me:

1: 22nd May 1627

Jans Ponssen of __
&
Annetje Marcus of Amsterdam - 29 years old - with Markus de Rueel

That's about all I can make out unfortunately.

London (Stepney, Hackney, Lambeth): Hayden, Jones, De Brader, Detenon
France & The Netherlands (Amsterdam): Detenon, De Brader, Slingerland, Goetje, Fokke
Ireland: Hayden, Mealey/Mealy
India: Padam
Gloucestershire: Cripps, Morse, Heaven, Timbrell, Draper, Olliffe, Adeane, Young, Goodrich
Hampshire: Voller
Sussex: Wenham, Rogers
Derbyshire: Lacey, Thompson

2: 9th October 1655

Jacob Jacobse of __, 28 years old, with ___ Nimoy?!, from Anjelierstraat
&
Annetje Marten of Amsterdam, 20 years old...

I find the handwriting just too spidery even to hazard a guess.

Not sure that I am going to be of too much help as I can't read those certificates either. However, I can confirm that Annetje married Jan Ponssen and not Marcus de Rueel. I only found one reference to Marcus de Rueel in Amsterdam: On the 23d of January 1614 he and his wife Sara Jacobs had a daughter Klara baptised in the N.H. church in Amsterdam.
Jan and Annetje had the following children baptised in the Nieuwe Kerk (N.H.) of Amsterdam.
Pieter: 5/3/1628 (father's name given as Jan Paulusz.)
Pontiaen: 20/1/1630. (father's name given as Jan Ponesz)
Saertje: 29/2/1632
Trijntje: 19/6/1639.

A Jan Ponson died and was buried 20/6/1697 in Heiligewegs en Laidsche Kerkhof in Amsterdam. I haven't checked out the burial certificate but it could contain more info for you.

Jacob/Jakob Jacobse/n/Jakobesz and Annetje Martens/Maertens had the following children baptised in the Noorderkerk, Amsterdam.
Jakob: 3/4/1661, Trijntje: 5/9/1663, Annetje: 17/1/1666, Claasje: 8/8/1668, Gerrit: 9 July 1673 and Jan 9/2/1676.

I have found 2 possible baptisms for an "Annetje" with a father named Marcus.
Anne: baptised 26/10/1601 daughter of Markus Janssen and Sara Jans.
Anna: baptised 4/5/1601 daughter of Marckus Roemin' and Sara Jacops.
Both have a mother named Sara which was also the name given to a daughter of Jan and Annetje. SAERTJE which mean Sara.
Perhaps the christening certificates of Anne and Anna may give you some more clues.

I notice that as yet no one has been able to help you with translating these documents. Are you aware of the Dutch genealogy website which has volunteers who are experts in this field of translating these difficult to read documents? You do however need to be a member and membership is free.
