Wanting information on my father
« on: Tuesday 23 June 15 13:45 BST (UK) »
Hi I am looking for information on my father, I last saw him when I was probably 2, I know he remarried and had other children 2 daughters I think!!
I am not sure if they knew he had other children, I know the last place he lived was pitsea Essex, I am not sure if he had a new identity as he was a witness in a large trail back in the 60's I have searched his name on on other sites back it never comes up so I wonder if he had a name change, I would just like to know if he is still alive or has passed away,

Have you checked social media for the daughters?

Have you checked the General Register Office Death index, it's online at Anestry and FindMyPast with a subscription or you can checked at any of the GRO hosts sites

or checked to see if there might be a will

https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate

If he has changed his name and died before 2007, you could put his date of birth in the Ancestry site to see if there are any possible deaths under a different name.

If he has changed his name, you may never find him as there are no central records of name changes by deed-poll. You can alos change your name without deed-poll and call yourself whatever you like as long as you don't set out to de-fraud.

Thank you I have checked many sites to no avail as I don't know if there was a change of name which I think is highly possible I can't check social media for the daughters
